Don Howarth President

I'm Don Howarth and for 2003 I will be the president of our cycling club. I'm a 55 year-old transplanted New Yorker. I work as a service planning and logistics manager at Xerox in El Segundo. I have been riding regularly for over 10 years. My family and I have lived in Huntington Beach for the past 17 years. My wife’s name is Maria. We have two children, Allison who is serving in the Navy and James a freshman in college. The board and I will serve the club to the best of our ability. We hope to continue the initiatives the club started last year and bring back some of VA's best early traditions and practices. We will be looking to you, the membership, to provide your thoughts, ideas and especially your help to make improvements to Velo Allegro during 2003. Our goal is to be known as the finest cycling club in Southern California.

Frank Said Secretary

This year I will represent Velo Allegro as Secretary. I will maintain the records of the club and assist the other executive board members with club responsibilities throughout the year. I will also keep the minutes of all monthly club meetings and include a summary in the monthly newsletter. This will help keep members informed of important news that is taking place within the club on a monthly basis. I have been a member of Velo Allegro for over ten years and get a lot of enjoyment (not to mention fitness) in riding with the club. The high point of my cycling accomplishments, to date, occurred in 2000 when I became a So. Cal/Nev State Champion. I partnered with Robbie McGinnis in the tandem time trial and we won our age division. That was truly exciting! I look forward to another exciting year in 2003 with high goals as a bicycle rider and executive board member of Velo Allegro. Yours truly, Frank Said
