| Information from the 10/08 Club Meeting...
1. Those in attendance chose the design for the 2002 Club jerseys. If you weren't there, too bad. Julio Flores did a great job of putting together a variety of designs and the group had a hard time picking just one, but they did. A sample image will be posted here soon.
2.The ballots for the Club Officers Election, , 2002 Club Meeting Day, End-Of-Year Party menu and RSVP, are DUE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2001. We need them earlier than specified so that we can get the caterer information in time to have food at the party. Please help by completing your ballot and putting it in the mail ASAP!
3. We continue to need sponsors for 2002. If you would like to help, CONTACT Buzz to find out how.
4. Greg Surbeck is wrapping up 2001 race reimbursements. If you haven't already sent in your information, DO IT NOW! See here for more details about the race reimbursement program.

ANTONIO CRUZ TO AUSTRALIA
03 August 2000
As you may know, Antonio (Tony) Cruz, won the US Road Cycling Olympic Trials last May. Which means that he will be representing not only the United States but Southern California Cycling in the upcoming Olympics. Unfortunately, his family does not count with the finances that would allow them to travel to Australia to see Tony compete. "The Friends of Tony Cruz" are asking the SCNCA and BRM to assist us in sending Tony's wife Jodie, Daughter Alexi-5 and Son Brandon-3 and his mom Pat Cruz to Australia to encourage Tony. Our goal is to collect $10,000.00 by August 15, 2000 to secure travel and lodging for his family. On Friday, August 11, 2000. The Whittier Hilton will be hosting a dance-dinner party on Tony's behalf. The party will start at 7:00 PM and will go until midnight. The Whittier Hilton is located at 7320 Greenleaf Avenue. The tickets for the party are only $40.00 per person. We hope that the Southern California Cycling community will attend and support this effort. For information on the party please call me at (714) 827-5633 or call Tony's mother Pat Cruz at 562-464-9007. Donation checks or money order can be made to "Pat Cruz" and mailed to Robert M. Rodriguez 10441 Mohawk Court, Cypress, CA 90630. Once again, thank you for your assistance. Robert. |
